The program

We conduct a half-day program for visitors at the IISER TVM campus with IISER scientists and technical assistants. The program consists of an introductory lecture by a faculty member followed by a tour of various disciplines of the institute. The tour includes a visit to the central instrumentation facility (see the list of CIF instruments) along with the demonstration of sophisticated instruments (see the list of CIF instruments) followed by a visit to research laboratories. If the visiting students have only a mathematics background, then a half-day "Walk With Ph.D Scholar" program is organized.

How to plan a visit

Email the outreach program coordinator, Dr. Ramesh Rasappan, at outreach@iisertvm.ac.in. Provide the preferred date of visit and the number of students.

Guest house

The Visitors Forest Retreat (VFR) is a guest house with furnished rooms for short and long-term stays. It's located next to rubber estates and forests.

How to get there

IISER Thiruvananthapuram is about 50 km from Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station or KSRTC central bus station. You can take a KSRTC bus from the KSRTC Central bus station to the IISER TVM, Vithura campus.

Number of students

We recommend up to 35 students per college for better interaction although the limit is 55 students, we occasionally permit more than 55 students based on various factors.
